  Human Resources Internship Program, 2015

The Human Resource Internship Program will offer internship
opportunities for college students who are majoring or have a
concentration in Human Resources. The program is intended to connect
participating interns with job skills readiness training, individual
coaching, and a meaningful internship experience in the Human Resource
profession.

Employers

How Can Your Company Get Involved?

There are several ways your company can be involved. Help prepare our
Human Resource college students for the workforce by being a host
employer or through corporate sponsorship.

Employers interested in hosting or sponsoring a Human Resources Intern
should contact Denise Bogart at dbogart at valdosta.edu.



Students

Students interested in the Human Resources Internship Program must
meet the following criteria:

A member of one of the participating SHRM Student Chapters or SHRM
Student Member
Have a minimum overall GPA of 2.0
Demonstrate a desire to learn and work
Exhibit mature behavior that is conducive to the work environment
Achieve success in the one-on-one interview
Compliant with all required internship program and employer legal documents.

College Relations Employer Site Tour Program, 2015

SHRM Valdosta is seeking employers that will allow HR Students an
opportunity to tour a corporate Human Resources department to gain
insight in the field of Human Resources.  During the tour students
will interact with different position levels and specialties and have
the ability to ask questions in a Q&A panel format.  At the end of the
tours, students will have a greater understanding of the field of
Human Resources from a corporate perspective.



Employer Tour General Details:

· Length of Visit: up to 3 hours (9AM-12PM or 1PM-4PM)

· Agenda:

o Tour participants are to meet in the company lobby 30 minutes prior
to start time

o Visit to begin in a designated location (i.e. conference room).
Request that a welcome speech be provided by the Director/VP of Human
Resources (approximately 30 minutes)

o A 1-hour tour will begin with Human Resources Department and
Business Partner Departments

o Tour ends at designated location (i.e. conference room)
