Please publicize the 2018 Asia Council Faculty Development Workshop on your campus. The workshop this year is called Islam In Asia: Faith, Ethnicity, and Conflict.   This workshop addresses topics critical to understanding the current conflicts in Asia.


Topics

  *   The Geographic & Ethnic Landscape of Islam in Asia
  *   Origins of Islam: What Does the Koran Say?
  *   Islam in Island Southeast Asia: Patters of Conversions, Beliefs, and Controversies
  *   Buddhist Thailand’s Muslim Minority – Issues of Religion and National Integrity
  *   Uyghur Religiosity and the Chinese State
  *   Islam in South Asia: Critical Regional Issues
  *   Roundtable Discussion: The Rohingya of Myanmar/Burma: A Contemporary Religious & Ethnic Tragedy
