Greetings All:


Thanks to those of you who attended the Asia Council meeting and those of you who were there in spirit!  I'm excited to take the reigns from Salli as the new chair, and I hope that we can continue to be successful in promoting Asia in our academic endeavors.


The first big item on our agenda is the spring workshop.  Unfortunately, we weren't able to put one together last spring, but we are definitely going to do it next spring.   We have decided to continue to focus on a particular country for next year's workshop - the question is whether we focus on Japan or Korea.  Both are good choices.


Please email me with your preference and the names and expertise of any faculty you know who could potentially offer a session for either workshop.   I'm asking for your input before next Friday, September 18th, so we can quickly make a decision, put a committee together, and start planning!
