The Department of Modern and Classical Languages along with Hildegard's
Cafe, is sponsoring a special art exhibition for Hispanic Heritage Month.
Since October is when we officially celebrate, Columbus Day, "Día de la
Raza," it is a day/month to recognize not only the Hispanic Culture, but the
Native Americans who shared their skills, resources and land with the
European Cultures who came over and now reside in the Americas. This year
we celebrate the theme with an art exhibition by Anthony Deiter, of the Cree
Indian Nation, in his work "Close Encounters: How the Native Americans have
been addressed/portrayed from 1492 to the present." The Department Of
Modern and Classical Languages will host a Reception on Friday September 19
from 5-7 P.M. at Hildegard's with a brief presentation by the artist.
