October 1-31st is Hispanic Heritage Month.
Lots of events are coming up for the month including music , movies, dancing
and more. If you are looking for something different to celebrate on and off
campus in October, add Hispanic Heritage events to your calendar. Look for
the schedule and a poster early next week in your mailbox, or call Patricia
in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages to request a copy of the
schedule via email or to get a poster for your bulletin board at: 333-5948.

Susana Chávez-Silverman is professor of Romance Languages and Literatures at
Pomona College in California. She is coeditor of Tropicalizations:
Transcultural Representations of Latinidad and Reading and Writing the
Ambiente: <http://www.wisc.edu/wisconsinpress/books/3057.htm> Queer
Sexualities in Latino, Latin American, and Spanish Culture.
