<p class="x_MsoNormal">The main discussion item will be our first Virtual “Teaching Asia” Faculty Development Workshop. You will remember that after our fall meeting, our long-term secretary, Flor Culpa-Bondal, arranged for Georgia College and State University
(GCSU) to host the workshop on their ZOOM platform. </p>

<p class="x_MsoNormal"><b><span style="color:red">However, we still need to determine a focus for the workshop along with session topics.</span></b><span style="color:red">
</span>Below are the responses from last fall when I asked Asia Council members for topics that they would be willing to present on, if asked to do so. If would be good if we could generate some more before the meeting Friday, so if you have any to add, please
send them directly to me. Remember, our workshop focuses on themes and topics that are relevant for teaching subjects in the core curriculum.

<p class="x_MsoNormal">For those of you that are new to the Asia Council, this will be our first
<u>virtual</u> workshop, and our first workshop since 2019, as we hosted the Asian Studies Development Program (ASDP) national conference in 2020 in lieu of the workshop, right before the pandemic hit, and then did not hold one last year due to the pandemic.
Therefore, it might be best if we cast the net broadly this year with at theme like “Teaching Asia Across the Curriculum” so that any number of topics could work, unless someone else has a better suggestion with some ideas in mind.
