<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0">Thanks for your support. We recruited and retained 14 students for this summer's China program. Eric states well on the needs for some help from the Council. </p>
<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0"><br>
</p>
<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0">We will be $5,000-$6,000 short in this year's program operating budget. The deficit has to be absorbed using our fund in our agency account left over from previous years. This year we don't have any student sign up from
GSU campuses. Based on the program policy, we will have to "eliminate"(hate to use this word) the two GSU professors who signed up to teach. </p>
<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0"><br>
</p>
<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0">We love to keep Professor Liam Madden (from GSU-PC) in our program since he is determined to go. He has expressed his desire to take on a leadership role in this and other Asia Council study abroad programs in the near
future. He will use this opportunity to continue to observe our program operation while teaching for us in order to gain more first-handed experiences. Despite our financial difficulties for this year, we are willing to share the cost of his travel and lodging
in China. Anything the program and the Council can do to reduce Liam's personal financial burden will benefit our students in the China program and the program development in the Council in the long run. </p>

spring at Perimeter’s campus. </p>
