only in International Education and Asia Studies and Initiatives, but with the inner workings of the USG SCIE (System Council for International Education). As the most far flung of all of us down in Valdosta, David was always at all programs, including the
annual faculty development workshops in Atlanta. We look forward to his continued influence in the Asia Council, especially in the area of study abroad.<u></u><u></u></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">Dr. Eric Spears from Columbus State was elected chair of the Asia Council at Friday's meeting. Dr. Salli Vargis has graciously agreed to continue as Vice-Chair. <u></u><u></u></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">The focus of the meeting was preparation for the 2019 Asia Council workshop, the 2020 Asian Studies Development Program Conference hosted by in Atlanta by the Asia Council, and discussion
of the new study abroad administrative structure for USG World Council programs. <u></u><u></u></span></p>
