A moody, contemplative vision of a world in which "Kildren," childlike fighter pilots who do not age and who seem to be reincarnated upon death, are contracted to wage air battles among themselves that somehow sublimate the hostilities of the adult world and
keep it at peace. Director Mamoru Oshii transplants his fascination with military motifs from futuristic science fiction into an apparently early 20th century alternate history in this handsome film that also boasts sophisticated 3D CG animation. The film

<div>William Fleming, assistant professor of East Asian languages and literatures and theater studies, Yale University, will speak in conjunction with the exhibition "Samurai: The Way of the Warrior." The Satsuma Rebellion (1877) and the rebels who died in
it have been romanticized in the Japanese imagination almost from the moment they first took up arms. On this side of the Pacific, the conflict was recently freely reimagined on the big screen in "The Last Samurai," with Tom Cruise portraying a fictional American
veteran who throws in his lot with the cause. But fighting alongside rebel leader Saigò Takamori was a real-life commander, fresh from America, whose forgotten story is every bit as remarkable as the one dreamed up by Hollywood. Relying on previously unexplored
archival materials from collections in the United States and Japan, this talk brings to life the untold tale of a teenage warrior whose bravery and determination in battle earned him the nickname "Little Saigò." </div>

International Festival maintains a positive and prominent presence.</div>

<div>The Mobile International Festival was established in 1983 to help educate school children and share the many international cultures in Mobile among everyone as an annual event by playing a key role in education with their focus on world culture and racial

Drawing from the outstanding collection of works on paper at the Georgia Museum of Art, this exhibition will provide a history and overview of Japanese woodblock prints or ukiyo-e, literally, pictures of the floating or fleeting world. As their name suggests,
these landscapes, cityscapes and scenes of domestic life were intended to emphasize the impermanence and fleeting beauty of the world around us.</div>
<br>
<div>This exhibition includes a number of works by <em>Utagawa Hiroshige</em> (1797-1858) and
<em>Katsushika Hokusai</em> (1760-1849), two of the most famous Japanese printmakers. It also features other prominent ukiyo-e artists, including
<em>Hishikawa Morunobu</em> (1618-1694), who is generally considered to have pioneered the technique with his single-color prints from the 1670s, and
<em>Suzuki Harunobu</em> (1724-1770), who developed the polychrome, multi-block printing process that characterizes the style.</div>
<br>
<div>In addition, several members of the community have loaned Japanese objects and artworks to display with the exhibition. Visitors will see antique kimonos, elaborate obi, porcelain and ceremonial table wares and objects, dolls an antique tansu chest and
other artworks.</div>
<br>
<div align="center" style="text-align:center">The Wallace State English Department, Sigma Kappa Delta English honor society, and The Lion's Den Writing Club will host a haiku poetry contest during the exhibition. The contest is open to all Wallace State students

The collection of approximately 100 works of decorative art and artifacts belongs to the Stibbert, which is in Florence, Italy. The exhibition includes swords, helmets, full suits of armor, sword fittings, bows and arrows, ink boxes and other personal items

a Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) in offices of local government authorities or related organizations, engaged in internationalization activities. Through hands-on experience living and working in Japan, JET participants develop a deep understanding
of Japanese society and people. The JET Program offers a unique opportunity for young Americans to immerse themselves in Japanese culture, and also for the Japanese people to learn about the United States through close interaction with JET participants.<br>

Since the program's inception in 1987, more than 60,000 people from 63 countries have participated in the program. There are currently 4,786 participants from 43 countries, including 2,695 Americans.<br>
